This post and beam historic home dating from the early 1800's first opened as a Bed & Breakfast in 1996. In the spring 2003, Carole and Ken Beckwith purchased the home, furnishing it with Shaker furniture, antiques and artifacts from their travels. The Ashburn House is located on Upper Troy Road, which is just a short stroll from the village common.
Guests are welcome to use the two downstairs parlors, each with a Rumford fireplace. One parlor includes a television, VCR and DVD player for guest use, while the second parlor has a more old-fashioned flavor featuring board games and a piano. Complimentary beverages and treats greet guests in these rooms.
On the second floor are three antique guest rooms, each with private bathrooms and modern amenities. The Rose Room and the Blue Room have queen sized beds and Rumford fireplaces. The Country Room has a double bed and a single bed in the same room. This room can open to the Rose Room as a suite for the convenience of family groups or those wishing adjoining rooms. Each room has a sitting area.
Guests enjoy a sumptuous breakfast with seasonal fruit dishes, fresh baked goods and tempting main entrees served in a period candlelit dining room.
