Mule Mountain Cottage

3586 W Hwy 80
Bisbee, AZ

RentMule+Mountain+Cottage at 3586 W Hwy 80 Bisbee, Arizona
Rating: 5 from 1 reviews.
Thumbs up! Nicely appointed cottage that costs less than almost any other lodgings in the Bisbee area. So close to Bisbee but without the noise of town. Ideally located for many day trips-- birding, Tombstone, Sierra Vista, Cochise Stronghold, Chiricahua National Monument, Willcox, Benson, Whitewater Draw, ghost towns and so on! My husband and I visit the area twice per year, and once we found Mule Mountain Cottage we haven't looked anywhere else for accommodations.

Mogollon Resort Cabins

2742 Fox Trl
Overgaard, AZ

Rating: 0 from 1 reviews.
Thumbs down! I initially booked a one night stay in the Homesteader for my husband’s birthday. The advertised price online was $139, however, I was hit with an additional $60 cleaning fee when I called to make the reservation. I was a little upset that the additional fee wasn't mentioned online, but decided to make the reservation anyway. BAD MOVE. On the day that we were set to check in, I received a voicemail at 12:30 (We were about 15 miles away) stating that the spa wasn't working at the Homesteader. Management offered to either give us a very small discount ($40) or move us to another cabin. I had to call back 5 times before someone answered, and was then told that we could move to the Lonesome Dove cabin for a working spa, but that the fireplace wasn’t working. We decided to make the move, however, I was extremely upset with the fact that they were calling us the day that we were set to check in to advise that the upgrade items that I had paid for weren’t working. The spa and fireplace were really the only two reasons that I booked the cabin in the first place. Upon arriving we found the cabin to be nice and clean, however, we soon realized that the baseboard heaters (that management assured us would be sufficient in heating the cabin) were definitely not going to do the job. We tried to turn on the oven to make cookies ... It didn't work. We then found that half of the light bulbs in the cabin were out, the microwave was faulty ... and THE SPA DIDN'T WORK. We called and left a message for management advising of the problems we encountered and our EXTREME disappointment with the condition of the cabin/amenities. It has now been two days and our call still has not been returned. Words cannot express how displeased I am with the entire experience .... or how much of a complete waste of money this cabin was. We will never return and I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Lake Of The Woods Resort - Lakeside, AZ

Thumbs down! Let's start by saying that the $330 per night is a complete rip off. Had we known what we were in for - I never would have stayed at this resort. Not even for free. The lake is disgusting and is more a pond than lake. You could not sit on the dock as the chairs were covered in bird droppings. The yard was covered in cigarette butts and garbage. The deck was dirty and the grill was unusable (all rusted). The kitchen - ugh! Gross - even the kitchen knobs had mold growing inside them. The electrical in all the bathrooms did not work. There were dead (and live - lucky us) bugs everywhere. You could not sit downstairs because the furniture was covered (and I do mean covered) in pet hair. The mattresses all need replacing as well. Barely enough plates for the ten of us - let alone the 20 it is supposed to sleep. The bathroom door in one of the rooms desperatly needs replacing. Pet hair was also all over the carpets. Not nearly enough towels for us to use. The sauna/hot tub - don't even bother - I would be scared to try based on the condition of the cabin. The rec room was just as bad. A wall of electrical games that don't work. A crappy pool table and ping pong table - both which need to be replace. We can handle 'old', but not 'filthy'. Unfortunately we got both. What a nightmare... 2010-10-15 18:25:42
