Thumbs down! My wife and I booked a cabin for a weekend at Heather Hill Cabin #1. We arrived at 5 pm, and it took forever to find it. The directions I was given were bad, there were no signs or even reflectors to guide you down the correct dirt road which was woven in with several other dirt roads on the mountain. Night driving would be almost impossible, we realized on the way in. The cabin was beautiful, inside and out. Perfect in every way. There was wildlife around. I started a fire since it was so cold and the heater wasnt working. The fireplace was working wonderful, and my wife and I enjoyed our stay at Heather Hill until about 8 o clock that first night. At about 8, I noticed headlight coming up the mountain toward the cabin. This cabin is secluded, so I figured someone was just lost. The vehicle kept coming, and I could see two men inside as it approached the cabin. I grabbed my pistol and went out on the porch. The car stopped in front of the cabin, and the men got out. They looked as though they had lived in the woods for a month. Dirty, unkemp. Both were obviously drunk. One was armed. I told my wife to call 911. The two men approched me at a RAPID pace, without saying anything to me. I drew my weapon and held them at gunpoint. Then they got scared and started talking, telling me they were from "cabin maintenance" and were sent by the owner of the cabins to stock it with firewood. I sent them away at gunpoint, and called the owner. She was totally unconcerned. She asked my wife on the phone, "were those boys messed up again?" She told us that one of the men did take care of the cabin for her, but he was suppose to do it early in the day, before anyone might check in. She said he was suppose to be alone. She seemed totally unconcerned with anything other than the fact that I mightve scared the guy. My wife and I both feel that those two men meant us great harm. The way they approched me aggressively, in silence. In total darkness. They only spoke after I pulled my weapon and was about the defend my wife and myself with deadly force. We packed and left right away, went to Harrison, and got a nice hotel room. The lady who runs Heather Hills, Tamara Breedlove, was totally nonchalant about the whole thing. Involved, I believe. I think there is something going on at Heather Hills. PLEASE do NOT rent these cabins. THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE. If you do go, make sure you are well armed, and be prepared for intoxicated, armed men to approach your secluded cabin in the dark of night and approach you silenty, at a run. Dont worry, they work for the cabin owner. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! By the way, the owner told my wife after the incident that she would give our credit card a refund, since we left because we didnt feel safe, but we have yet to recieve one. once again..THIS PLACE AND THE PEOPLE WHO RUN IT ARE DANGEROUS!!!

Hooks Trout Resort and Rv Park - Mountain View, AR

Thumbs up! I have stayed here once and it was really nice. I decided to take my wife here for our Honeymoon so I booked a reservation in the elderly couples guesthouse. We show up at the time I said I would and there were people already there. They had double booked the place. I then went to inform the owners and they would not speak to me. Finally the old man told me to get off the property and not come back. They make a mistake and get mad at me about it??????????????????????????????? We ended up staying at the Best Western down the street. 2011-09-08 13:01:05
